12,000+ visitors!!! & November update

Filed under: Uncategorized — kendrasteinereditions @ 9:33 pm

Or more accurately, visits from 12,000+ different computers, but in any event, I’m impressed! We’ve gotten listed as a link on many distinguished sites, without ever asking anyone for inclusion or offering anyone to trade links. Most recently, KSE was given an ongoing link at Ron Sillim*n’s poetry blog, perhaps the most distinguished American poetry blog, and that’s been bringing in regular traffic. The philosophy here is to keep issuing quality work on a regular basis on our modest scale, and not to waste any time ass-kissing or schmoozing or insincerely praising the laughable self-appointed gatekeepers of the “small press poetry” world. In the end, it’s the work and the product that matters and that will live on.

Presently, I’m working on assembling and formatting the KSE LAST POEMS collection, featuring a great line-up of poets: Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal, Edward Churchouse, Glenn W. Cooper, Aleathia Drehmer, Dorothea Grossman, Melissa Hansen, Jack Henry, Adrian Manning, David E. Oprava, and Ryan Smith. I’d hoped to have that out by now, but it’s looking like late November is a more realistic estimate.

Following that will be NEXT EXIT: TEN, the final volume in that series, featuring Misti Rainwater-Lites…because who could possibly follow Misti?

I’m at work on another collaboration, this time with Michael Jacobson, and it’s called A GIFT OF STARS. We hope to have that out by the end of the year, and when that’s done, I’ll be hooking back up with A. J. Kaufmann for a second collaboration, BLUES FOR DUFFY POWER, a tribute to the legendary British bluesman. A. J. and I will be working on that in December and January, I think.

The year 2008 will close out with another solo chapbook from the great L.A. poet LUIS CUAUHTEMOC BERRIOZABAL called STILL HUMAN, and A. J. KAUFMANN has another solo chap coming out around New Year called SATORI IN BERLIN (X-BERG POEMS). Jack Henry will have the chap EMPTY HOUSES coming in January, both New York’s Zachary C. Bush and San Francisco’s Michael Layne Heath will be back early in 2009 with solo chaps, and I’ve got about a half dozen new works in development right now from some amazing poets that will surprise and delight! Check the blog in coming weeks-months for further details.

Thanks to all visitors to this blog for your support of KSE and of independent artists.
