Sean Casey channels Dick Cheney—-a must-read!

Filed under: Uncategorized — kendrasteinereditions @ 9:49 pm

Poet/fiction writer/editor/renaissance man Sean Casey, who runs the essential Chuckwagon Press (one of my 3 or 4 favorite small presses—-see the Sean Casey link to your right among the links), recently published an amazing piece of fiction. Entitled “The Contents of This Shoe Box Are of Greater Worth Than Your Life,” it channels the inner workings of soon-to-be-ex-vicepresident Dick Cheney’s mind, and it’s both frightening and full of black humor. Sean has been writing some fantastic poetry in a similar vein recently too—-I had the privilege of reading a suite of poems written in the persona of infamous Enron crook Ken Lay, and Sean also did a fine poetic tribute to the legendary and larger-than-life Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter Wanderlei Silva. The Cheney piece was published in Massachusetts Review , and it’s available for free online at the following link: http://www.massreview.org/PDF/4903/Casey.pdf . Congratulations, Sean. You hit a grand slam with this one!!!
