K. M. Dersley, who is one of our favorite poets at KSE (he’s had three chapbooks so far—-Retrospective Forecasts, Blue Velour, and Next Exit: Six), and who will be (I hope) returning with another chapbook in the second half of 2009, just did a fantastic in-studio appearance on a show called “Headstand” on 209 Radio (FM 105 in Cambridge, England). Keith reads poems (including one from a KSE chap!), plays/sings some of his fine original songs, and tells some entertaining anecdotes. No wonder his “Beatnik Cabaret” has been so well-received!
The show is two hours long, and even though Keith is not on all two hours, it is a great listen with lots of quirky music, an over-the-top host, and a second poetry feature, one from Ireland. Check it out. Keith’s appearances in each of the two hours begin at 19:35 and 1:15:38 respectively, but just let the show play while you’re doing something (stop doing it during Keith’s sections, of course!) and I think you’ll find yourself enjoying the whole thing. I wish a show like Headstand was on in my area!
Here’s the link. You’ll want the Wednesday, February 4th broadcast of Headstand. Enjoy!
