I’ll be performing the long-poem PLINK, PLONK & SCRATCH in the poetry-and-electronic music duo I’ll be doing with Lee Dockery at the KSE “Psychedelic Disaster Whirl” on Sun. 16 October at ND in Austin…when Sky Sunlight Saxon passed away (June 2009 in Austin), A.J. Kaufmann and I both wrote poetry chapbooks in memory of the master (AJ’s was Symbolisme Psychedelique, mine was PLINK…and if you know the origin of the phrase “plink, plonk & scratch” you are a serious free-music fan), so it seemed like the perfect piece to perform at this event…

Lee and I visited the concert venue yesterday, ND @ 501 Studios (entrance on Brushy, one block east of the I-35 Frontage Rd., between 5th and 6th St. in Austin, on the south end of the block), and it’s an awesome space with a fine stage and sound system, a massive projection screen (where Laurel Barickman will be doing her amazing projections), lots of room, some seats off to the side for those who want them, a fine bar w/ both Fireman’s 4 and Dos Equis on tap, and tamales from Tamale M0lly.

The posters are printed and are starting to go up around Austin.

Remember the line-up:

8:00 PM,  BOOK OF SHADOWS

9:05 PM,  SMOKEY EMERY (Daniel Hipolito)

9:45 PM,  R. LEE DOCKERY & BILL SHUTE

10:25 PM,  UNMOOR

10:55 PM,  ST 37

admission $7.00

doors open at 7:15, show at 8:00

drink specials and food from Tamale Molly, so come early and stay late!

also, great recorded music between sets from Taj Mahal Travellers, Heather Leigh, MV & EE, etc.
