KSE—celebrating 6 1/2 years and 250 releases…
Kendra Steiner Editions began in March 2006 as a very small D.I.Y. publisher of contemporary poetry, based in San Antonio, Texas. So far we have published 170+ chapbooks, ranging from 5 to 10 pages, by a wide variety of poets including Doug Draime, Michael Casey, Stuart Crutchfield, Mark Weber, Byron Coley, Thomas Michael McDade, Brad Kohler, David Keenan, K. M. Dersley, Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal, Bill Shute, Misti Rainwater-Lites, Zachary C. Bush, Michael Layne Heath, Glenn W. Cooper, Christopher Cunningham, MK Chavez, Jim D. Deuchars, Caleb Puckett, Hosho McCreesh, and Adrian Manning, Ronald Baatz and John Sweet.
In 2010 we extended into the music world with a series of cdr releases of experimental music: drone-noise-ambient, electroacoustic, free-jazz, higher-key psychedelia, etc. Our music releases have included such artists as Sir Plastic Crimewave, Derek Rogers, Ophibre, Alfred 23 Harth, Andreas Brandal, Rambutan, Kuschty Rye Ergot, Nick Hennies, Parashi, Belltone Suicide, Heather Leigh Murray, Fossils, Carl Stone, Book of Shadows, Lisa Cameron (Venison Whirled), Massimo Magee, Sabrina Siegel, Unmoor (Eva Kelly and Andy Hendrix), Daniel Hipolito (Smokey Emery), Rambutan, and Matt Krefting
Our chapbooks and cdr’s are available at a few select underground-shops, but the easiest way to get them, wherever you’re located, is to write us directly at django5722 at yahoo dot com, tell us what you’d like, and we’ll send you a paypal invoice. A list of available books and prices can be found on this blog. All prices are postpaid in the US…and postpaid elsewhere if you buy two or more items. In addition, European readers can check out Volcanic Tongue in Glasgow, Scotland, which stocks a number of the books and cdr’s, including older books that are out of print and we can’t even sell you.
This blog will be used to announce new releases, comment on various books and poets, and share some in-the-trenches accounts of writing/editing/publishing from yours truly, Bill Shute. If you like our books, you’ll probably find the blog of interest. Thanks for looking. Remember, you can see a sampling of the books at the following link:
