last call for KSE 2013 releases…very few remaining on most…

Kendra Steiner Editions featured at Free Form Freakout–link to podcast

In early July 2013, I did an extensive interview w/ David Perron at KMSU-FM (Minnesota State University, Mankato) on the legendary Free From Freakout program, discussing my own poetry and background, the history of Kendra Steiner Editions, commentaries on many KSE artists, and a discussion of current and upcoming projects. There’s LOTS of music and a lot of interview—-the whole show runs 2 hrs. 15 min. Thanks to David for his long-time interest in KSE and the professional job he did w/ the show. Some of you will remember that I was interviewed by KMSU-FM last fall on two of the installments of their Jandek Study Group broadcasts (shows 4 and 5 out of the 7 total). Here is the link…happy listening!

new CDR’s from Sir Plastic Crimewave, Ophibre, Derek Rogers

Kendra Steiner Editions is proud to announce its first three music CDR’s from three internationally acclaimed musician-composers, hailing respectively from Chicago, Boston, and Austin.

KSE #172 (full-length, professionally duplicated CDR album)

SIR PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE, “string/soul/eye”

brand-new studio album of long, deep, Indian-flavored solo pieces (with  two Krautrock-flavored interludes to vary the texture) from Chicago’s legendary psychedelic shaman. truly, a higherkey experience. hand-numbered edition of 75 copies

$7 ppd. anywhere

KSE #176 (3″ mini-cd, approx. 19 minutes)

OPHIBRE, “st. asphalt (patron saint of army ants)”

blistering new electronic composition from Boston-based Ophibre (aka Benjamin Rossignol), who has recorded for Ruralfaune, Tape Drift, SRA, and many other cutting-edge labels—-Ophibre is also a builder of instruments, a technician, an aesthetician of the drone—-think scalding-hot asphalt and swarms of army ants alchemically transformed into evolving and revolving sheets of sound…hand-numbered edition of 75 copies

$5 ppd. anywhere

ps, don’t miss Ophibre’s other new release, the exciting PHASE PLANE CAKE DECORATOR, available from Intransitive Recordings’  “Songs From Under The Floorboards” series at

KSE #170 (3-inch mini-cdr, approx. 19 minutes)

DEREK ROGERS, “circum_navigate”

Austin-based musician-composer Derek Rogers recently premiered this haunting electronic composition at the NMASS Festival in June 2010, and the week after that he went into the studio and recorded this 19-minute version for KSE… feel the sting of the contact mic, bathe in the drone, climb the fuzzed-out steps to speaker-shredding bliss…Derek will be playing the Neon Marshmallow Festival in Chicago in August, and will be selling this cdr, but why wait? edition of 75 hand-numbered copies.

$5 ppd. anywhere
