new pricing structure and ordering format at KSE…please read!

Filed under: Uncategorized — kendrasteinereditions @ 10:20 am

As of 31 July 2010, we’ve instituted a new pricing structure and ordering system at KSE for poetry chapbooks and music CDR’s, and we hope it will be easier and more convenient for you.

You can find the details, as well as the presently available releases, here:  https://kendrasteinereditions.wordpress.com/available-kse-poetry-chapbooks/

Put simply, chapbooks and 3″ mini-cdr’s are $5 each, postpaid anywhere.

Full-sized CDR’s are $7 ppd.

Business-card CDR’s are $4 ppd. (or $3 if ordered with something else).

Payments should be made via paypal to django5722(at)yahoo(dot)com .  Drop me an e-mail letting me know what you’ve ordered and that you’ve sent money. Shipments generally go out twice a week via first class mail.

Thanks. These terms replace any terms listed in older posts on the KSE website or elsewhere. If you are an established customer who has paid by check for previous orders, you may continue to do so…just contact me via private e-mail at the yahoo address above with the items you want to order, and we’ll work it out.

We appreciate your support over these 4 1/2 years and 170+ releases. Many exciting poetry and music (and poetry-and-music too!) releases are planned for the next year. Stay tuned to the blog for details.

Our next release will be two new music CDR’s from two great electronic-drone  composer-performers in late August/early September:

KSE #178 (3-inch CDR), Rambutan, “Age of None.”

KSE #179 (3-inch CDR), Andreas Brandal, “Minus.”

Both are major new works and worth waiting for!!!

A.J. Kaufmann, “Amazon, The Fame of God” (KSE #166), now available!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — kendrasteinereditions @ 5:59 pm

 A . J. KAUFMANN

AMAZON, THE FAME OF GOD  (KSE #166)

(cinema poetry series, volume four)

Poland’s A. J. KAUFMANN is back, this time with the fourth edition in KSE’s “Cinema Poetry Series.” A.J. has been tied up with music activities for the last four or five months, recording and then re-recording an album of his own compositions, but took a break to write this exciting eight-poem suite inspired by Werner Herzog’s classic 1973 film AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD. Who can forget Klaus Kinski’s over-the-top portrayal of this over-the-top conquistador, capturing in one film everything that’s wrong and stupid with imperialism, colonialism, fanaticism, theocracy, etc.

A.J. takes on the same themes in this collection, turning his kaliedoscopic, psychedelic poetic eye toward South America, taking us on a new/old death trip down the same river as Aguirre/Kinski. As usual, it’s a wild ride, and it peels back the veil on many a dirty little secret.

KSE #166 is available now…$5 ppd. anywhere. paypal to django5722(at)yahoo(dot)com.

Also available for the same price is BILL SHUTE, “SEAWALL” (KSE #169), written in Galveston about the Gulf Oil Spill.

And also our two new mini-cdr’s:

KSE #170 (3-inch CDR). Derek Rogers, “Circum_Navigate.”

KSE #176 (3-inch CDR), Ophibre, “St. Asphalt (Patron Saint of Army Ants).”

And for $7 ppd. anywhere the new full-length CDR from Chicago’s legendary psychedelic shaman SIR PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE, “String/Soul/Eye” (KSE #172).

Coming over the next month or two we’ll have a new poetry chapbook from DOUG DRAIME and new mini-cdr’s from RAMBUTAN and ANDREAS BRANDAL.  Watch for them!

From here on out, all payments will be via paypal (except for established customers who have been paying by check) and all chapbooks and mini-cd’s will be $5 ppd. Full-length cd’s will be $7 ppd.

Thanks for your support for the last 4 1/2 years!

SEAWALL (KSE #169) by Bill Shute, now available

B I L L   S H U T E  ,    SEAWALL  (KSE #169)

sound library series, volume 57

My newest poetry chapbook, SEAWALL (KSE #169) , was written in Galveston about two weeks after the Gulf Oil Spill. At the time, I imagined the tarballs washing up on the Texas Gulf Coast, which had not yet happened; of course, now they HAVE begun washing up on the Texas Gulf Coast. This sad event will totally change the lives of Gulf Coast residents and will uproot Gulf Coast culture—-indeed, it already has. And things will NEVER be the same, even if the water becomes “acceptable” again in 10 years or whatever. And for better or worse, it will become a defining moment for the Obama administration, although he of course had nothing to do with it.  SEAWALL is my attempt to capture in poetry, from a Texas perspective, the Gulf Oil Spill and its (no pun intended) fallout. I hope you find it interesting and worthwhile. This event will touch and has touched us all. I don’t understand how poets can NOT write about such events!

Paypal ordering only: $5 ppd. anywhere to django5722(at)yahoo(dot)com.

I wrote it in Galveston, TX, in early May 2010 on the second floor balcony of the $35/night Super 8 Motel that faces Seawall Blvd. and the Gulf Of Mexico, fuelled by energy drinks and under the spell of the Ophibre CD  “drone works for differing digital audio formats and encoding methods” (SRA, 2009), repeating each short track about eight times before moving on to the next one and then repeating that. Someone it helped me clarify the vision of what was in front of me and project into the near future. The drones fuctioned as waves of oil moving in my mind’s eye through the Gulf toward Galveston…

If he would ever read it, I’d hope Joe Bob Briggs would say, “Check it out!”

spoken-word SILHOUETTES cdr now available

Filed under: Uncategorized — kendrasteinereditions @ 10:51 am

SILHOUETTES   (KSE #177)

spoken-word   business-card CDR

running time 4:30

Here’s something out of the blue: my reading of KSE #3 from 2006, SILHOUETTES, recorded last weekend (11 July 2010) in Austin, and now available on a business-card CDR (NOTE: you must play these in a player/computer with a tray…do NOT insert them into a slot or you will ruin your machine!).

SILHOUETTES contains five poems, telling five different Texas stories. It was also the first in our long-running Sound Library Series. It sold well at Volcanic Tongue and at my 2006-2007 readings but has been unavailable for years.

The SILHOUETTES cdr is available by paypal ordering only. Write me and request a paypal invoice: django5722 (at)yahoo(dot)com. It’s $3 in the US and $4 elsewhere. Only 30 copies have been created…don’t miss out. Sound quality is great…it sounds like I’m in your room giving you a dramatic reading. Look out, Ken Nordine and William Shatner!

Our first 3 music releases are almost ready: SIR PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE, DEREK ROGERS, and OPHIBRE. Watch for them soon!

July 2010: the best of times, the worst of times

Filed under: Uncategorized — kendrasteinereditions @ 10:32 am
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us…
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
